We are seeking a Service (Mechanical) Engineering Technician who has experience in printing operations, quality systems, and maintenance of high volume tight delivery equipment. The candidate is expected to be ready to provide technical and engineering support for WEB printing presses and customers operating in New Zealand and Australia as required. The Company Our client is a well-established European printing house company based in Sydney, with a global distribution network that heavily relies on on-time delivery and high product quality. The Role This permanent full-time role will provide customer technical service and support to commercial and newspaper customers. This role works actively in increasing the production performance of installed equipment and supports customer on site aiming for the optimum performance of consumables. It is also expected that the Service Technician Engineer will provide printers’ maintenance services. Duties incorporate and include: • Attend to customer technical issues and problems and address proactively to ensure they are resolved. • Identify potential technical issues proactively and provide solutions for customers. • Interact proactively with the Technical Service Centre on solutions as required. • Escalate serious issues to the Service Manager. • Support customers on site aiming for the optimum performance of consumables • Co-ordinate resources (technical, design, spare parts) as required • Identify and initiate potential press design developments to central design department • Support staff on technical issues • Provide liaison to key customers on all technical, service and support issues • Provide technical support to local spare parts personnel • Provide Customer Technical support on spare parts identification and references as may be required. • Assist local spare parts management in determining appropriate stocking and purchase order policies The Ideal Candidate • 5 years experience in the same capacity • Degree as specialist for printing technology • Has advanced engineering & technical skills related to Manroland WEB presses • Has the ability to approach responsibilities in a pro-active manner • Has the ability to reliably & professionally communicate issues effectively both internally and externally, and in both written and verbal forms. • Has the ability to work as part of a wider team and contribute effectively to team issues and tasks. • has the capability to plan and organise own activities and the ability to work unsupervised.
