Description This company a leading ground operator (DMC) and camp/lodge operator in the East African safari market. As an organisation they are committed to providing the very best East African experiences through a robust service offering and deep passion for the area in which they operate. The company was created from a rich partnership of safari and lodge operations to ensure that they combine the very finest safari operations with a comprehensive circuit of excellent lodges & camps in East Africa.In 2009 they moved the Sales & Marketing function to Cape Town to facilitate a better service to its agents. Work is ongoing to build a leading safari sales platform that will enable their preferred agents to quote/confirm much quicker than currently customary in the safari industry. All bookings are handled and processed by the Cape Town Office and all operational aspects (vehicles, guides and camps) are delivered by the Head Office in Tanzania. Their guides are full time employees and are trained and nurtured by the organization and in Cape Town they are able to attract some of the best reservation staff who are trained weekly and examined. The Cape Town office has around 35 fulltime employees. They support the communities where they work through The Honey Guide Foundation and are committed to supporting the communities that their clients originate from through charitable auctions etc. Responsibilities Work description Undertaking Market research on new social media channels (Google+), examining new developments in the safari industry and doing competitor analysis research on travel agent websites -Research into tourism award opportunities and assisting in a project for a new website. -Carrying out direct marketing involving for example analyzing customer feedback cards and enriching them with details from the system about the agent they booked through and camps they visited. Maintenance and updating of Agent Database. -Adding/updating companies and contact persons -Examining the companies presence on the web and working with Google Analytics -General administrative work in support of the marketing department eg direct marketing, agent marketing, social media, online- and offline marketing - Social media support (finding content online, maintain Flickr/YouTube account) Requirements -Good organizational and planning skills -Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English, preferably also German and/or Dutch) -Strong skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) -The ability to work on multiple projects at one time -The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines -Internet Savvy -Personality: Eager to learn, enthusiastic, self-motivated, team player -Working hours: Monday – Friday: 9 – 17 hrs
