Events Intern Main tasks • Contact building. This will involve telephoning companies and organisations to identify the correct contact, and researching their likely needs on the internet, as well as identifying individual contacts who might be interested in running events at Asia House. • Carrying out mailshots, mainly by email, to potential clients. • Building up detailed, cost-plus quotes for prospective clients, are both acceptable to the client and profitable for Asia House. • Showing round prospective clients and making sure that they are aware of the full range of possibilities. • Assisting the Events and Facilities Co-ordinators to set up rooms as required to a high standard, including staging and AV equipment as required. • Meeting and greeting clients, providing teas and coffees and generally assisting with events when required. Person specification This role would suit someone who wishes to take up a career in events management. He or she will be confident and personable, and enjoy meeting a wide variety of people. He or she will also need creativity, and a good eye for what will appeal to our market. Previous knowledge of events marketing, in theory or practice, would be an advantage. A good eye for detail and the ability to manage time effectively are a must. This role involves some lifting and moving of furniture.
